A video showcasing a fireworks and drone display is going viral on social media, with claims that it captures the celebrations following India’s victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Claim:
The video shows fireworks and a drone display at Dubai International Cricket Stadium after India’s win in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Fact:
The claim is false. The video actually originates from the opening ceremony of the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup 2024 at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, Kuwait.
Verification:
India did win the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, defeating New Zealand in the final by successfully chasing a target of 252 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on March 9, 2025. However, the viral video does not depict post-match celebrations.
Several social media users shared the clip, associating it with India’s win. A post on X (formerly Twitter) read:
India has won #ChampionsTrophy2025 by defeating New Zealand, Pakistan, and Congress, hosted by an Islamic nation during the holy month of Ramadan.”
Upon conducting a reverse image search, we found that the viral video had been originally uploaded on December 23, 2024, on Instagram, with the caption:
“Jaber Al Ahmed stadium Fireworks #jaberalahmedstadium #gulfcup #ceremony #kuwait”
Further comparisons between the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium and the stadium in the viral video confirmed that they are the same.
Additionally, Aletihad, a Gulf-based publication, reported on the Arabian Gulf Cup’s opening ceremony on December 21, 2024, featuring similar visuals, including a drone formation of a trophy in the sky—matching the viral footage.

The viral video is not from India’s Champions Trophy 2025 victory celebrations. Instead, it is from the opening ceremony of the Arabian Gulf Cup 2024, held at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, Kuwait. Therefore, the claim is false.
